CHOPPER and Lamb on a butterfly catching trip. :3

Our A levels are fast approaching and so, the school
organized the usual motivational talk to get us hyped up
...for studying. (Which is a paradox in itself)
Anyway, Mr. Paul Chow suggested that we purchase new notebooks-
-to you know, get a fresh start on note-taking... or something like that.

Mr. Paul Chow said it worked for him so I decided, hey why not?
I've got nothing to lose.
I went to Popular that weekend (after my celebrating my
niece's -i feel so old! xD- Birthday -at my Uncle's Semi-D house. Which is so, so pretty. )

Chopper is everywhere. D:

Since, my dad was paying I grabbed a couple of stationaries
along with the notebooks. The pretty-pretty rainbow coloured one
you see above is for GP. (initially, it was for Literature but
I realized it was too small for my big mindmaps :P)

Usually, for GP, I like to take down either critical quotes
or chunks of stylishly wirtten arguments. And the size is perfect
for that kind of note-taking. (brims with happiness - i have no idea why
I'm so happy that I found a prefect GP notebook. xD)

The huge sketchpads there (sadly ) aren't for drawing
- my dad was kept giving me suspicious looks. He was like, "Are you sure,
you're going to use those for studying?"
xD.

It's got this nice leathery texture but I can't stand the plain black covers.
My sis brought back these really cute stickers she purchased from some store at ION Orchard.
It's absolutely adorable, so I bugged her to get me some too. xD
Then, I'll have polished black leathery not-so-plain-anymore notebooks with cute stickers.

Recently, my sister suggested that we should re-paint the bedroom.
And since, I was really tired of the old, pale purple and pink horizontal stripes that
dad had painted like five years ago...
I had a HOORAYHOORAY moment and immediately agreed.

(My mum insists that it's purple and pink but it looks
more like purple and purple honestly xD)

The job of 'Paint Colour Picker' was then entrusted to me! Ohohoho~
I wanted a vertically striped PINK room (awesome, i know)
and chose the prettiest shades of pink. Well... actually, it's not really the prettiest shades.
The shop had a seriously limited colour pallete to choose from.
I initially chose this flamingo-ish pink colour
but then-
-dad went like, "No. That's gloss... "

Me: ....Oookay. (Soooo, he doesn't like glossy walls...)
Dad: It's for wood surfaces.
Me: Oh.
Dad: ...
Me: Can we use this to paint the wooden wardrobes then? (I've been wanting to paint them white since forever ;_;)
Dad: ಠ_ಠ /glareglare/ Choose another colour. ( translation: NO.)
Me: ಥ_ಥ

And so, I chose another colour.
My sis and I spent the whole Saturday painting the room.
She painted most of it actually. I mostly helped to measure draw out the vertical stripes.
Anyway, it was well worth it in the end!

I've been waiting for PlayStation®Home since -forever-

So when they announced on the PS3 newsfeed that applications

for the PlayStation®Home is now opened to the public,

I quickly signed up for it.

So, along with a blatant suck-up-to-Sony paragraph,

I was going to add a verse which went along

the lines of "PS3 PS3, Buy already no money".

But I decided against it.

Now, that I think about it, I've never even played a

GOW game before.

( GOD of War, Not GEARS of War. Pfft.

That generic 360 game.)

I just like to jump into the teeny-bopper

bandwagons. ﾟヮﾟ

Talking about loving Sony.

They really are my favourite electronics brand. :>

(all of which are not included in the pic)

Now, all we need it a Sony Vaio to complete the set. :D

Moving on...

Remeber how I mentioned that my PS3

has internet connection problems?

(I BET you DON'T REMEMBER. D:<)

It's actually because the walls block the

signals from the modem.

Since, the PS3 was in the BALCONY which

was two to three rooms away from the modem,

it explains why the internet connection

was around, at most, 15%.

SADNESS.

So, after MUCH prodding,

our parents allowed

us to move the PS3 to their room

(i.e the master bedroom)

which is right NEXT to the study room where the

stewpit (◉_◉) Singtel Mio Modem was located.

(you know...the talking modem in the Singtel

advertisments they used to show on TV--

well guess what!? It CAN'T talk.

yeah.)

That made me soooo happy since

the internet connection went up to around 75%.

ﾟヮﾟ

AWESOMENESS.

But I guess we were bothering them or something
by playing in their room.

AND we didn't have a proper plave to place

the (shinyshiny) PS3...

So...my parents decided to

get us a TV (!! *SPAZZES*)

in the STUDY room! (ah...the irony)

Not in our bedroom since

"our bedroom is for sleeping and nothing else".

But- yeah- the TV!

Woot!

Went to IMM- Best Denki.

Met the most ANNOYING salesman who

INSISTED that we get the Toshiba one

since it was $100 cheaper.

(B-but you get a free $100 voucher

along with the purchase of the SONY Bravia-
so it adds up to the same price really!! O':)

Soooo, anyway after 3 loooong days,

it finally arrives!

*_*

Woot!

And with the internet connection (now a whopping 100%!),
I was able to download the Ninja Gaiden 2 demo!

o(≧ω≦)o

Awesome controls. Great Demo.

Very, very fluid motion.

I also downloaded the demo for

SIREN: New Translation/Blood Curse or

whatever they decided to name it now.

(along with Heavenly Sword, Resistance...etc.)

That game freaks me out.

I can't even get past the 1st zombie. ಥ_ಥ

I love horror movies and

although I do love WATCHING others

play horror games,

I don't have the guts to play them myself.

Which explains why I -still- have NOT

finished my Silent Hill: Origins.

OMG!! It's behiiinnndd youuu, dammit! ಥ_ಥ

If anyone is up for a horror game,
please come to my house
and finish the Demo.

And if my sisters are up for the challenge,

Ooohs~ It sparkles too!

I hate reading instruction manuals.

So when the TV was all set up,

I man-handled the PS3 and the TV

to get it connected without the

help of one.

And uh....That didn't work so well.

All i got was screens and screens

of white noise. TT_TT

(which was kind of freaky after a while... ;_;)

My mum then made me sit aside

and read the damn manual.

ಥ_ಥ

But I cheated ⊙3⊙ !

I just scanned through it.

Finally, it was the combined effort

of both my parents (who read the manual), to get

the PS3 connected to the TV.

Since it was a HD TV, I expected the graphics

to be STUNNING.

Buuuutttt...

it was sooo ugly. You could see the pixels! ;_;

The pixels! (lawl. i'm such a geek.)

Haha. I then realized that you

needed a HDMI cable to get HD graphics,

so my dad and lil sis went to Courts to purchase one.

We got it connected and the

graphics were AMAZING!

It makes a whole WORLD of difference.

Eternal Sonata & Little Big Planet!!

After getting our passports renewed, my dad

suggested that we go to Funan Centre

since he wanted to get a new anti-virus and

internet protection software.

But!- We didn't get one (since my dad couldn't

decide on getting either

Norton or PC-cillin or AVG =_="

They all look the same to me).

Instead, he bought a game for each of us!

Little Big Planet was a given ofcourse!

It's received so much spotlight from

the gaming world!

I had to have it.

Eternal Sonata was another matter.

My lil sis and I had tried the Eternal Sonata demo

(which was in JAP ;_;)

and we fell in love with it.

Buuttt- my lil sis wanted Devil May Cry 4 too-

which by the way, is really hard to find in game stores

around Woodlands.

Since I was dying (no duh. not literally),

for a RPG game- I gave my lil sis

THE GLARE.

(ಠ_ಠ)

And she got Eternal Sonata instead.ﾟヮﾟ

Hey!

Don't give that "you selfish biatch" look! O:<

You seeee~ I've got it all

calculated in my mind.

Devil May Cry costs around $60.

Eternal Sonata, on the other hand,

costs around $90.

I'm willing to fork out $60

(and if it's shared with my lils-

that makes it $30!) for a game.

But $90? Uh. No, thank you.

So...we should get my dad to

pay for the more

expensive game, no? :D

Then, we can buy the cheaper one ourselves!

(ok. That still makes me sound like a selfish ass.

oh well.)

So, was Eternal Sonata worth that $90?

The thing I truly fell in love with this game

is its story and characters.

The thing that I could't stand were its dungeons.

Of course the dungeon takes many forms:

e.g green meadows, the sewers, a cemetry, a pirate ship.

And the dungeons DO look good but...

The bottom line is

a dungeon is still a dungeon.

I do enjoy fighting the monsters but

it gets really tiring after a while.

Especially since you have to do a LOT of

backtracking (ugh. which I hate)

to get all the treasures.

Nevertheless, it really is good, solid RPG game

which would hopefully satisfy my fill

until Final Fantasy XIII come out.

(But the one I'm going GAGA for is

Final Fantasy XIII Versus- which looks

too cool!

Too bad it's scheduled to be released after FF13-

ಥ_ಥ )

Little Big Planet is a game which is

said to let you share, create and have fun.

And it really allows you to do

that and so much more.

You'll start off with a naked brown sack-boy

and you'll have to go through an easy to follow

tutorial level before arriving in your.....

POD!

Isn't my pod so pweety?

YESH. That's my pod.

Of course, you'll get a plain, empty cardboard

box of a pod at first.

With the PS3 controller as your throne.

But you're allowed to decorate your pod with

the stickers that you get throughout

the levels!

Me and my lil sis.

One of the many perks of LBP is

the ability to play with your friends-

both offline and online!

Playing with friends is crazy fun.

But be prepared for stomachache-inducing

moment from hours of laughing.

If you're tired of how you look like,
you can easily makeover your
sackboy-or girl with the many
costumes you've collected.

(or downloaded...or purchased from

the PlayStation Network.)

When you've decided on the look
you like, you can just save the whole costume, for future use.

Other than costumes, you'll also want to collect

any stickers you've spotted throughout the levels.

Stickers can be used to decorate

your pod or even yourself.

And if you feel like being annoying,

you can paste the stickers on other players too.

ﾟヮﾟ

PLUS, you can also CAM-WHORE(!!) in LBP too!

They allow you to take pictures with

your buddies everywhere!

And after taking those pictures,

you can paste them in your pod,

create huge billboards of yourself

during the level creation mode,

or even paste it on huge objects while you're

playing through

the level itself.

The Level Creation Mode.

Use your gadgets to create your own levels

and share them with the LBP community!

Real Physics do apply in the level creation mode

so you've got to be careful,

since your towers can topple down

and crash into your other buildings~

All in all, Little Big Planet is a truly

FANTASTIC game- which also

gives you trophies that you can show

off to your PSN friends/buddies!

Haha! Hari Raya Haji just passed and here I am blogging
about Hari Raya Aidilfirtri which was like months ago,
right before the

Economics Midcoure Examinations if I'm not wrong.

Which was why I brought along my school bag.
I had my Econs lecture notes in them.

OMGIMSUCHANERD.
(Which proved useless by the way, since I didn't even
touch much less read through them. xD)

Hari Raya.

A truly exciting day
which is truly all about

~~THE $$$ MONEY $$$~~ family.

And ofcourse what would Hari Raya be without the
customary photo-taking sessions with your loved ones
--and that is really just a polite way to term "Cam-whoring".

First stop: My Dad's Mummy!'s place

Or Grandmother or Grandmummy or Nenek or Nek!
Or- Wait. I think that's all there is really.

Most of my relatives have yet to arrive when we reached there.

So it wasn't crowded or anything which allowed

us to grab the best cam-whoring spot. (WOOT!)

a.k.a: the spot next to the TV, at the side of the sofa,

next to the coffee table which also by the way,

coveniently sports the array of

kuih/goodies/tib-bits/cakes/drinks.

Actually, Iprobably would, since I
vowed to do the exact same thing last year
and still ended up buying -the prettiest- pair of

(Hari Raya Aidilifitri: Day 2)

Well, technically it's not really Day 2 of Hari Raya
since Day 2 was during my Econs exam.
And I obviously, couldn't have celebrated Hari raya THEN.

But I don't like being technical since
technical reminds me of physics and...

PHYSICS IS NOW IN MY PAST
and it should stay that way. Forever.
(thank god. goodbye Snell's and Newton's law, E.M.Fs and P.Ds,
specific heat capacities and the Cathode-Ray Oscilloscope of doom.)

Physics by the way, has the most boring practicals EVER.

Measuring the velocity of the toy car,
squinting your eyes silly
to look through the stupid glass block to measure
the angles of refraction and reflection. (I HATED that practical)

And honestly, counting the osccillations of the damn swinging
metal ball for the umpteenth time loses its novelty after
a while (not that it had any in the first place...)

But Chemistry practicals are a whole different ball game.
I loved titration. :)
And mixing up chemicals too ofcourse.
(although I HATED calculating the mole value of a chemical.)
Downside of it is that the chemicals makes my hands itch
whenever it spills- and it spills a LOT.

No thanks to my lab partners (Dhiya, Shuying and Sufyan).
(Who went to NJC, TJC and RJC respectively. GAWD. I FEEL
DUMB. THANKS A LOT. ಥ_ಥ )

(Hari Raya Aidilifitri: Day 3)

Celebrating Hari Raya with friends!

The main goal of going out with your friends
is NOT to love-hug-bond with them--
Nope. It's actually to get
extra pocket money for yourself.

(My beloved friends, if you're reading
this, that was a joke. *shifty-eyes*)

This especially applies to those poor teens
whose evil parents (like mine) would take your
Hari Raya money (the one you worked so hard to get ;_;)

And would store them in your bank account
which you're not entitled to open until
you're sixty with 7 grandchildren
(well actually, it's until you finish school- that includes
university life- but STILL.)

I only went out with one group of friends
since DHIYA is a LAZY ASS and refused to jalan raya
with us. So I had to cancel my plans to jalan raya
with the other group.

(DIA, I will make sure you get bottles of pretty-pretty glitter
for your birthday next year.)

This is my SJAB group of friends- whom I LOVE-
the people not the CCA (which I miraculously
managed to get A1 for. Lawl.)

Minus HANIF. The other ass who cancelled plans
at the very last minute. How unreliable.
And this is why I was and always will be the better SJAb treasurer.

The Jalan Raya with my friends didn't start so well since
first off, Nina (Ninaaa. i miss youu!!) was late (as usual).
Then, since we were late, we had to rush to Khatib MRT station
to meet the rest.

THEN, we had to wait for Sufyan who thought we were
supposed to meet at Woodlands instead. So, while
we were waiting for him at Khatib, he was there at Woodlands.

Thus, we decided to go to my house first, so we called him and
told him to wait there. But he was already on his way to
Khatib. =_="

We then, had to wait for him to arrive, and THEN take
the train back to Woodlands.

OMGRIGHT? I know. And I was freaking hot. (teehee.)
Wearing black did not help.

Still, it was fun despite having to go home early since
my Mum called and she was like,"BALIK SEKARANG.
DAH MAGHRIB." =_="

(Maybe I'm being harsh but I truly miss BP's National Day.
With the marching in of each CCA contigent,
the Guard of Honour contigent who look AWESOME in white,
the flagpoles custom-made by the scouts,
the BP BAND complete with the drum beats that we use to time our drills,
and the absurdly HIGH spirits of the students~

Anyway, after that, we went up to the gallery (since our class is SPECIALS <33)

Finally, we settled down and watched the concert.
The fashion show was hillarious!

Each class had to send a representative who then
had to dress up as their designated role.
(e.g Yusoff Ishak, Lim Bo Seng, Stamford Raffles,
the Chinese coolies etc...and even the weight-lifting guy
who won an olympic gold o(≧ω≦)o )

Everyone was so sporting!
And some participants really stood out.

There was this Yusoff Ishak participant (2nd from the left in this pic) who brought
along a huge cardboard cutout of the Singaporean dollar note
and placed his head through the hole on the cutout where
yusoff ishak's face is xD

I wish I'd gotten a picture of him doing that though ಥ_ಥ

And we have Lt. Adnan!

The first contestant actually had
the same print of the pic as the one in the slide
and the guy was using it as some sort of a mask! xD

The second contestant (who won- he really deserved it anyway)
was awesome. Plus, he had this huge bazooka~

The weekend following National Day was bliss.

Little (Redundant) Story Time:

On Saturday, my elder sister and I went out
on prowl for Stephenie Meyer's
newest twilight book, Breaking Dawn.
Well- she was anyway.
I wanted to get new handphone strapsfor my new handphone.
:3 Which is so pretty~

We went to Popular Causeway Point
but they weren't selling it yet.
They only had copies for those who pre-ordered the book.
I know! - i was like O_O "Whaaat??"

My sister then got annoyed at me
since I assured her before we went out
that Popular, Causeway Point had the book in stock.
(I'm sorrrryyy! ಥ_ಥ)

And that made me sulky (ಠ_ಠ )
Then, my sister suggested that
we take a cab to Takashimaya to get the book.
And that made me even sulkier (ಠ_ಠ ಠ_ಠ)
since I haven't gotten the chance
to buy my handphonestraps.
Yes. I'm petty.

And take the cab we did.
The book was (thankfully) in stock at Kinokuniya.
My sister was like on a new high or something
when she got her hands on it.
She's really into the Twilight series I guess.

The last series I was that crazy for was Harry Potter.
I -love- the books. *_*
No other book has gotten me so crazed.

Anyway, I was still rather sulky(ಠ_ಠ)
since i wanted to get the handphone straps
back at Causeway Point.

So, we took a cab back to Causeway
and went shopping! For handphonestraps! <33>

Traditional RPG game it is not.

I was expecting a Final Fantasy-esque type of game.

Well. IT'S NOT.

You have 2 characters to choose from.

Ellen, who went to Doolin village in search of her dead mother.

Or Keats, a journalist for an occult magazine, who received

a mysterious phone call from Doolin and thus, decides

to investigate said place.

Soon enough, the intruiging (and really rather creepy)

plot reeled me in.

Sucking out souls is hard work though.

You're required to use the six-axis motion controls

to urh...yank out the souls from the creatures/folks.

Yes. Yank it out. Literally. O:

Once, I yanked my controller up so hard,

I ended up hitting my jaw with the controller.

Hard.ಥ_ಥ

Anyways, Me likes Folklore. A lot. A whole damn lot. :)

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of destruction :

This game is soooo much fun!

I've never played a Ratchet game before so

I didn't know what to expect but boy, am i pleased

that I listened to the reviews and bought this game. :3

I love that you're able to use different types of weapons to defeat

the opponents. That just really opens up the game to boundles possibilities~

There's even a gadget that would make the enemies dance!

(I want one! ಥ_ಥ)

Which is really cute! And kind of zany too if you ask me.

Grand Theft Auto 4:

This game is huge.

The whole damn city is huge.

It even comes packaged with this huge map

to aid you in getting around the HUGE city.

(Did I mention that it was huge?)

There's like an endless list of things you

can do in the game. Really.

I haven't even tried the online multiplayer mode.

throw bricks at the guy who

refused to sell you a hotdog just because

you toppled over his bottles
of mustard and chili sauce...

Pro Evolution Soccer 2007:

It's okay, i guess.

I keep gettting yellow and red cards for tackling my opponents. ;_;
But i've never really liked soccer (watching and playing),
so my opinions would be really biased.

Anyway, on the way back from Funan, we decided to shop for new shoes!
There was this really nice pair of PINK Nike shoes but (ARGH!)
there were no sizes available.

So, I settled for a pair of white/silver nike shoes.
So so sleek and pretty!

And it really is incredibly shiny!

The downside to the oh-so-pretty shiny surface is that

the imprints of your fingerprints can be clearly seen on it~

(Alas, I have to refrain from stroking my beautiful baby ;_;)

But knowing Sony, there'll be a

SUPAH slim one in a few years time.

my dad finally came home with it.

(FYI, i'm still in awe of that clapping sensor thing. You know...

I know that some people say that the PS3's Six-Axis motion

controls are overrated but i beg to differ.

I had crazy fun shaking the controller to cast spells
in Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix.

Harry looked like he was spazzing

throughout the whole game!! :D

I watched my sister play the game using the Six Axis~

One word: Hillarious.

She looked halfway between

being possesed and having fits.

You can use the analog sticks ofcourse.

But why pass up the chance to look like an idiot?
Anyways, it'll help to tone up your arm muscles~ (:

Here are some of the games my dad bought for us! :D

It's not much but blah~

The games are incredibly expensive.

(-is used to buying pirated CDs- xD)

In a nutshell (from right to left),

Need For Speed ProStreet: I don't like realistic racers. They're evil. Like expired candy. ( I always lose in those races )':< )

Skate: Nailing the tricks are hard but it's sickeningly addictive. xD
Harry Potter and the OOTP: Lots of fetching quests but I enjoyed it for some reason. It's probably due to all the spastic controller-shaking that I did~

Uncharted is total love.

It's an amazing game. I was never much of a fan of shooting

games (this isn't a FPS but well..there's lots of shooting xP) but
i love this game to bits and pieces.

Treasure Hunting + Puzzles + Intriguing storyline = *hearts* <33

There's one thing I couldn't stand though...

*spoiler alert*

Chapter 18. o_o

I absolutely hated the Zombies part. The bunker area was awful. ;_;

I was like:"This wasn't on the back casing of the game!!"

I was scared silly by the creatures.

If my sisters hadn't helped me,
I would still be stuck on that level.

All three of us we huddled together in the balcony and

we would shriek each time a zombie appeared. xD

I can't play horror games.

My sister bought me Silent Hill: Orgins

for the PSP and I could barely move throughout

the game coz I was so scared. I remembered playing it

in school during the PAE period and my friend was like:

"Don't just stand there dammit! Move him!"

I'll never finish that game. ಠ_ಠ

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Screenshots!

The graphics in the game are breath-taking. The

screen shots don't do them justice.

And the pictures are blurry, I know. Don't complain.
